Radio has been a part of America’s entertainment and news for decades. In earlier times, it was the radio that informed us of news, provided us with shows, and gave us music to enjoy all day, every day! Families gathered to listen to shows such as Amos ‘n’ Andy, Arthur Godfrey’s Talent Scouts, The Guiding Light, and The Orson Welles Show; and hundreds of others, including comedy, drama, and music. As radio entertainment evolved through the decades, it featured famous icons such as Casey Kasem, Wolfman Jack, and Dick Clark! And the commercials — what fun it was to listen to the “jingles” and sing along with them as they played through the airwaves. With this nostalgic concert, we will travel down memory lane to rediscover how the radio enhanced and changed American lives from the 1940s through the 1970s. Please join us for A Blast from the Past — We’re On the Air! Reserve your lunch for $15 before Friday, May 29, with Aaron Hampton, Music & Worship Arts Assistant (email@example.com).
