Hey eleven:eleven friends!
I want to remind you that we in the eleven:eleven community will not meet at our regular space at Historic 512, this Sunday, October 27. Instead, we will be joining all the worshipping communities at either 9:30 or 11:00, your choice, in the main sanctuary of FUMCFW for a celebration of the church’s 90th year of ministry at this location.
FUMCFW broke ground for this campus on October 29, 1929 (yes that’s right, the day the stock market crashed — nevertheless they dug!). We are celebrating 90 years of making an impact on the Fort Worth community. And we want to celebrate together —with all our diverse expressions and communities of worship in one place.
Our band, eleven:eleven revolution will be the main musical accompaniment, joining up with the choir and Organist Peggy Graff and Pianist Hans Grim. An all-star cast!
I will share in the message of imagining ourselves — past, present, future — with Dr. Tim Bruster and Rev. Lance Marshall. I think it’s going to be unusual and inspiring!
Also, be sure to come early — and maybe even stay late — to enjoy the refreshments in Wesley Hall, the historical displays provided by FUMCFW Archives, and classic cars from each decade that will be on display on 5th Street to represent historic culture and ministries over time!
This is a one-time special event (unless we are all here 90 years from now), and we hope to see you there!
Come as you normally do, come casual — and be ready for an enjoyable morning!
Rev. Tom McDermott
Associate Pastor of eleven:eleven
P.S. Next Sunday, November 3, we’ll be back at the Historic 512 for eleven:eleven— and we’ll welcome special musical guest, Hannah Kirby!
