After a very busy Vacation Bible School (VBS) week at the church, the construction intermission is officially over and Phase 1 construction is back underway! The Children’s Division office has been moved temporarily to Room 208, and Room 209 is being remodeled with a new entry check-in counter.
To facilitate this construction, a temporary wall has been installed in the second floor hallway with a temporary door into the construction area. Temporary walls have also been installed in a portion of the existing library space (including the AV closet) to allow construction of a new children’s accessible restroom. Some demolition is being done in the existing library entry area, but the library will remain open on Sundays as usual.
Demolition and construction is also underway for the newly relocated Bride’s Room (Room 224). During this interim period, brides will be using Room 230 for wedding preparations. Work on the new first floor library space will resume next week.
This is a very exciting time to see the construction moving forward for our Children’s Wing Expansion. (Click on the link to learn more about this first phase of our building program that will make more rooms and activity spaces available for our Children’s programming and accomplish some important interior remodeling as well!) As Mister Mark would say, “Give your brain a kiss” for the thoughtful ways you’re supporting our growth to help welcome new families with children with this first phase of our Building Program.
