The Horned Frogs gave it their best in the Big Twelve Championship. Even though they did not end the game with the victory, they are still winners with an opportunity to finish in another BIG way when they go up against the Michigan Wolverines on December 31st in the Fiesta Bowl College Playoff.
Here at First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, like the Horned Frogs, we are winners. We also have the opportunity to have another big win when we finish 2022 with a fully funded budget and kick off 2023 in a strong financial position. Here is our “quarterback play call” that we are asking our members to consider running.
You should have received your 3rd quarter contribution statement in mid-October reflecting the status of your 2022 Commitment balance. (Please call me at 817-339-5098 if you would like to know your current balance status.) If you plan to pay off your balance, I am asking that you do so on or before December 31st. If you have paid off your 2022 commitment, please prayerfully consider making an additional year-end gift on or before December 31st.
Here are four giving options that are doable between now and December 31st:
Checks, cash, or money order – Please make your check or money order payable to FUMC Fort Worth with a note designating the gift for the 2022 Ministry/Operating Fund.
Online giving at shelbygiving.com/fumcfw. — Choose “Ministry Fund” as the designated fund.
Text to give – Text 817-241-2327 and enter the amount in the message bar. To use the Text to Give option, please be sure that you have a ShelbyGive account set up with the church and on your smartphone.
Stock Giving –If you have appreciated shares of common stock that you would like to donate to the church, you can transfer shares of stock from your account to the church’s brokerage account. This provides you with a dual benefit: you do not have to claim the capital gain on the appreciated shares, and you get to claim the total value of this stock on that date of the transfer as a charitable contribution. Contact Steve Fagan, Director of Finance email@example.com │ 817-339-5085.
If you would like to deliver the gift in person, please be aware the church’s Main office and Business office are closed on December 26th and December 27th.
The Business office will be open on Wednesday, December 28th and Thursday, December 29th from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Friday, December 30th from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Business office is located in the Foundation Building, which is on the corner of Macon and Fifth Street, across from the Leonard Chapel. The best access is through the west door on Macon Street.
Your continued thoughtfulness in the way of completing your commitment or making an additional year-end gift signifies your belief and support of the transformative power of our ministries and Team FUMCFW!
We are extremely grateful and joyful for your cheerleading!
Along with my thanks, I wish each of you a Christ-filled season that sparkles bright with an angel’s glow, overflows with the joy of a new mother and surrounds you with the peace of a sleeping babe in a manager.
