FUMCFW Compassion & Justice Ministries partner with several local organizations. One of the ways we partner is to offer volunteer opportunities. These organizations provide valuable services to our neighbors and could use our help in their endeavors. Here are three organizations that have current volunteer opportunities:
Tarrant County Homeless Coalition

Trinity Habitat for Humanity
Trinity Habitat for Humanity has an immediate need for volunteers in January and beyond to build homes for families in our community. Your efforts in 2016 helped us build over 30 homes. That’s over 30 families who now have a quality, safe, affordable place to call home! Thank you! We’re ready to build more homes in 2017! Are you?
Immediate Need for Volunteers:
- Thursday, January 19
- Friday, January 20
- Thursday, January 26
- Friday, January 27
Please help us fill our January dates first! If those don’t work for you, we also have dates available in February and March.
Special Build & Paint Days
Women Build — Friday, January 20
Women Build engages, educates, and inspires. Having a safe and suitable place to live brings stability, family unity, hope, and a foundation from which individuals can reach their full potential. Come work alongside Halina on her home. This is the last Women Build Day with availability.
Mother-Daughter Paint Day — Saturday, January 28
Day 12 of the Women Build is a special day open to mothers and daughters. On all other build days volunteers must be age 16 or older to assist with construction activities. On Mother-Daughter Day, volunteers age 12 and up are welcome to help paint the exterior of the Women Build house.
Family Paint Day — Saturday, January 28
Want to volunteer with your kids? Depending on where we are in our build schedule, you may help with any number of tasks during this special home painting opportunity open to families. Volunteers must be 12 or older.
Cowtown Brush Up — Saturday, April 8
We will be painting 30+ homes in a single day! Can you put a team together to help paint a house? Each house requires a team of 20, or smaller teams will be combined to make larger teams. Teams larger than 20 will be assigned multiple houses. All homes are located in Fort Worth and owned by an individual or family in need of assistance. Trinity Habitat partners with the City of Fort Worth and volunteers like you to make this dramatic transformation possible in a single day.
