Check Out This Photo of One of Our 2022 Donors

I hope you were part of last Sunday’s service – either in person or online. Both The Gathering and the Sanctuary service celebrated two of First Church’s prize commodities – our children and our youth! Even for someone like me who does not have children or grandchildren, I was so proud and so enthusiastically reassured about First Church’s future as our youngest disciples filled the sanctuary sharing wise words and beautiful music.

The good times spilled out to Fifth Street where families and others enjoyed the extraordinary weather and delicious beignets from The Beignet Bus. (Rumor is that the Bus will be back on December 12th.)

Thanks to many of you who stopped by the Stewardship Table to fill out or drop off your 2022 Ministry and Operating Fund Commitment Card.

I wish to highlight another one of our younger youth – Ellis – who dropped off his commitment card. I watched as Ellis and his mother discussed the meaning of the commitment card and after the thorough explanation, Ellis remained steadfast in his decision to not only complete the card but to also pay his 2022 gift in advance. Needless to say, we were both all smiles for this momentous occasion.

Hence the photo of “Ellis commemorating his first official monetary pledge to the church.”

If you have not already done so, please join Ellis in financially supporting our 2022 Ministry and Operating Fund by completing a commitment card. In doing so, I hope you experience the joy and thanksgiving reflected by smiling Ellis!

Together in Christ
