The formal aspect of the 2020 Imagine Annual Stewardship Campaign concluded last Sunday. Over the last four weeks, our pastors and worship team knocked it out of the park!
They shared their personal stories on giving and challenged us to think about how our relationship with money influences our stewardship. They inspired us to approach stewardship in a different way — taking the emphasis off “our money” and allowing a Christ-focused life to become the influencer in our approach to stewardship and generosity.
Bravos for our Communications team who made the campaign a reality from the development of printed materials to getting the word out through an array of communication tools.
Kudos to our Stewardship Ministry Lay Leadership Team who assisted in the implementation of the campaign. Special thanks to team members Kelly Fox, Dave Alvarado, and Janet Anderson for being guest bloggers and class speakers.
I wish to thank our Stewardship Moment speakers who shared wonderful, heartfelt testimonies: D.D. Holmes, Amy and Mark Sorley, the Clark Sykes family, Brian Jolin, Janie Burchfield, Joan Lanford, Laura Patton, the Eric Bembenek family, and Kelly Fox.
And I thank YOU, our congregation, for responding! We are now at 65% of our goal, and I am confident that we will reach it.
Of course, if you haven’t made your 2020 Commitment, you still can. Commitment cards are still available, or you can do it online by going to fumcfw.org/commitment.
By now you have heard that this Sunday is another very special Sunday at First Church. You will want to be there for sure as we come to together to imagine and celebrate what is ahead for our faith community in 2020.
We also want to celebrate YOU. Please stop by our IMAGINE Stewardship Table in Wesley Hall between 9:00 – 9:30 am, 10:30 – 11:00 am, and 12:00 – 12:30 pm, to enjoy a tasty treat and pick up a small token of our appreciation along with our sincere thanks.
Thank you again. We can’t wait to see you on Sunday.
Together through Christ,
Director of Stewardship
