Celebrating a Spectacular Week of Music Ministry!

By October 20, 2017Music & Worship Arts

Spectrum17_HSThe 21st season of the Spectrum Chamber Music Series was launched on Monday evening in the Chapel with a record attendance of more than 100. Musicians from the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and other professionals presented music from all ages, including a stellar clarinet duet by Poulenc, an authentic Baroque trumpet ensemble, a violist skillfully playing an unaccompanied Bach suite, and an arousing string quartet playing Mendelssohn.

The intimacy and fantastic acoustics of our Leonard Memorial Chapel make it a perfect venue for chamber music. Everyone who attends these concerts leaves feeling in awe of the remarkable local talent we have in our great city and surrounding areas.

The next Spectrum concert is Monday, February 12, at 7:00 pm and will feature our new Chapel organ among other superb performers and ensembles. (Watch for details coming in January!)

Randall Stroope), Plano Senior High School, Byron Nelson High School, Haltom High School, and Richland High School. We are so blessed to have such a wealth of choral programs in the DFW area, and we are indeed thrilled to showcase them in our beautiful Sanctuary. Choral music is alive and well at FUMCFW!
