Due to forecasted rain, our 5th Street Celebration of Gratitude has been moved from October 14 to October 28.
“The discipline of gratitude is the explicit effort to acknowledge that all I am and all I have is given to me as a gift of love, a gift to be celebrated with joy.”
— Henri Nouwen
I am so excited about Sunday, October 28 as we come together for a Celebration of Gratitude on 5th Street.
It was evident from our Gratitude Tree that each of us have much to be thankful.
Today, I am thankful for:
Amy Atkins and John Cockrell who are the 2019 Stewardship Lay Co-chairs: their leadership, insight, and support have resulted in a successful campaign;
Our amazing stewardship speakers who spoke in all services and who spoke heartfelt and encouraging words to motivate us;
Our Communications team who worked tirelessly to make the best impression and inspire us to give with gratitude; and
Each of you for giving prayerful consideration as to how you would like to support the 2019 Ministry and Operating Fund. Thank you!
Join your FUMCFW friends and family for lunch on Sunday, October 28 starting at 11:00 am, as we count our blessings and celebrate the generosity of our members.
Food trucks will be on site and all food items will be available at a cost of $5 per item. Not only will you enjoy a tasty lunch, but the three food vendors are donating a portion or all of their proceeds back to First Church’s ministries and programs. (Just one more thing for which we are thankful!)
We also want to show you our thanks for turning in your 2019 Commitment Card. Make plans to stop by the Stewardship Table and pick up a very special “thank you” memento for “giving with gratitude.”
I look forward to seeing you on 5th Street!
