This new sermon series offers an opportunity to build a bridge between people of faith and people who are struggling to make their way in the world without it. I hope you’ll invite someone that you care about to join us in worship this weekend. It just might help them begin to think about Jesus in a whole new way.
This is a difficult and uncertain time! I certainly hope it is the only moment in my life where the church postpones in-person worship. I’d like to spend a few minutes reflecting on this moment not just as a leader of a large, urban church, but as a Christian searching to experience this moment in the light of Christ.
Do you know how to pray? Do you know how to speak to God in prayer, how to express yourself and verbalize the condition of your soul? Do you know how to listen to God, to open your heart to be in communion with your creator? Do you know why you’re praying, understanding it’s purpose and intent?
