I’ve got some big news.
For the last year and a half, my wife and I have been preparing to grow our family through adoption. Since the beginning of 2019, we have been fully licensed and waiting for a phone call to let us know that we’ve been matched with a kiddo.
Well, the phone rang. We are thrilled to announce that Henry will soon have a brother!
. . . and a sister!
. . . and another brother!
Yep, we’re adding three new kids to our family! This is a precious group of siblings between the ages of five and one years old, and we’re excited to be their forever family. Our placing agency let us know that they’ll join our family in just two weeks. We’re scrambling to get everything ready by the first week in August when they’ll come to our home for good. It’s fast!
We are very blessed by FUMCFW encouraging me to take paternity leave to focus on family bonding during this critical transition time. Fortunately, everything here at church is in good hands, and I’m grateful beyond measure to get to take time away knowing that all will be well at First Church!
Here is a brief outline of the schedule:
I will preach this Sunday in the Gathering. (Make sure to join us, I’ll have a lot more to share.)
Zhenya will preach in the Gathering from August 4 through September 22, and I will be out on leave.
I’ll return to preaching and regular availability on September 29.
In the meantime, I want to invite you to a brief come-and-go baby celebration that we will have on Sunday, August 4, from noon to 1:00 pm in Room 350. Come by and wish us luck!
Please be in prayer for our growing family over these next weeks. Your support means the world to us, and I am so grateful for you.
God bless y’all!
