A Special Sunday

By September 25, 2017Children's Ministries

Mark BurrowsFamilies,

Thank you for yet another great Sunday.

I wanted to let you know about three big things coming up.

Thing One — This Sunday is October 1, and the beginning of our annual October Attendance Challenge.

The Academy class with the highest average attendance in October (based on enrollment) gets a pancake party in early November.

For those of you who are new to Academy, this is a BIG deal. The kids take it very seriously. Pancakes are on the line here!

Thing Two — In conversations with you about children and worship, something that often comes up is how much you value getting to experience Communion as a family.

You will have that opportunity THIS Sunday. It’s World Communion Sunday, when people all over the world will be breaking the Bread of Life and sharing the Cup of Blessing.

Communion is one of the most engaging, multisensory ways for children and families to experience the love and grace of Jesus. I hope you will make plans to join us.

Thing Three — The Halloween Carnival is Sunday, October 22 — 3:00 – 5:00 pm. Pony Rides. Pumpkins. Petting Zoo. Train Rides. Cookie Decorating. And MUCH more.

This is one of the signature family events at First Church. And who knows? It might actually be below 90 degrees by then.

Have a wonderful week!
