A Pillar in Our Community

Beverlee Herd Day

Monday, August 16, 2021

“… whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant.”  — Matthew 20:26

Throughout its history, the First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth has benefited from outstanding leadership. Such great leaders are often called pillars. You’ve heard the phrase “Pillars of the Community.” That’s because they support us, provide strength, create action and affect change and growth. We are very fortunate at our Church and Foundation to have so many remarkable individuals involved in our mission and service. Beverlee Herd spent countless hours at the Church and Foundation volunteering her time, gifts, and service. She was indeed a person of influence, power, and vision. She was one of the most exemplary community leaders in Fort Worth.

On Monday, a flag will fly over the Texas Capitol in remembrance of Beverlee, and The Senate of the State of Texas has designated the day as Beverlee Herd Day. We hope you will join us to celebrate the life of Beverlee Herd! We are thankful for her legacy of compassion, care, and devotion.
