This fall, during our stewardship campaign, we asked you to imagine what we could do. As I think about this task, I like to reflect on what we have done.
Like many of you, I am amazed at all the ministries our church provides. It gives us a place to come together, to learn, to worship, to serve, and a place to belong.
Without the generous gifts each of you make to the church, we wouldn’t have this wonderful place, these wonderful programs, and the wonderful people to call our church family.
We, as a faith community, continue to see growth in our attendance. We have flourishing children’s and youth ministries. We have multiple worship opportunities each Sunday morning. We have abundant adult ministries and provide many services on a local and at a national level.
As the year is coming to an end, we are doing a Finish Strong Campaign. Similar to other nonprofits and retail, First Church counts on December to be the strongest month for congregational giving. I ask you to prayerfully and thankfully consider making a gift — perhaps even an additional gift to support our general ministries and programs.
I also want to take this opportunity to say thank you to each of you. Those of you who made commitments for 2019, thank you. For those of you who have fulfilled your commitments, thank you. For those of you who plan to fulfill your commitments, thank you. For those of you who plan to make an additional gift at the end of the year, thank you.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
This week you will be receiving your 2019 eleventh month Contribution Statement either by email or delivered by the US Post Office. Please note that not only does it reflect all your current 2019 contribution activity, including your 2019 Commitment balance as of November 30th, but if you returned your 2020 Commitment Card, then your 2020 Commitment is also shown along with any received advanced payment. Should you have any questions regarding 2019 giving or your 2020 Commitment, please contact the Business Office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Let’s all work together to finish the year strong as we celebrate this advent season and sing out, “Joy to the World!”
Wishing you blessings and joy,
Amy C. Atkins
