It goes without saying that FUMCFW is truly a church unlike any other with its diverse offerings of worship styles and services. And, this diversity of worship offerings was affirmed as one of our church’s core values and strengths during the recent Focus First Leadership Summit and visioning process. With DiscipleChurch at 8:30 am, Traditional Worship at 9:30 and 11:00 am, Chapel Communion at 10:30 am, The Gathering at 9:30 and now 11:00 am, and our nontraditional eleven:eleven at 11:11 am, our church continues to expand in membership and ministry — as well as in its need for more space.
With the continued, across-the-board growth and vitality throughout our church, it feels like a great time to take advantage of an opportunity to meet and worship in an off-site setting. This kind of move will not only help address the church’s “growing pains;” it will allow us to expand and even better serve our unique community with our nontraditional, thought-provoking, and engaging worship experience. With the amazing music of the Revolution Band, storytelling, humor, and deeper explorations in faith, we will continue to be a Sunday morning space to “reconnect your spirit without disconnecting your mind.”
Starting June 10, eleven:eleven will meet in the beautiful ballroom at the Center for Transforming Lives (formerly the YWCA, and also known as The Historic 512. ) This popular venue offers a perfect solution, 133 steps from the FUMCFW East ramp — literally just across the east parking lot from where we are now. In this facility, we’ll be able to enjoy all the advantages of being adjacent to the church campus — and continue to offer the same vital alternative worship experience we’ve enjoyed together for the past 14 years. In addition, this new opportunity will allow us to reach a wider population with our messages of inclusiveness, community, and the universal love of God — with practical applications for these messages in our daily lives and the transformation of our world.
Over the past weeks, Charme Robarts and I have met with various members and small groups within the eleven:eleven community, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. In the coming weeks you’ll receive more information about the move and about our planned celebrations, with our trademark humor and fun videos we hope you’ll enjoy and share. I am so very excited about this move, and I hope you will be, too! If you have any questions, please call or email me (email@example.com) at 817-336-7277 or join us this Sunday for some Q and A time at the end of our 11:11 service. I’d love to talk with you about this move and the exciting new possibilities for eleven:eleven!
Grace and Peace,
